Karan wants his DDLJ performance ‘erased’ so he could win an award for Bombay Velvet
At the age of 43, Karan Johar wants to run for the debut award for his upcoming performance in Bombay Velvet and thus wants his brief performance in DDLJ erased. At the launch of his jewelry brand, Karan in an interview to NDTV told something interesting. Apparently it the debut award in acting that he is eying next year.
"I am trying to pretend that this is my first film. So can we erase that experience (DDLJ)? Because I want to run for the debut award at 43, so why are you doing this to me?," Karan said. The Dharma chief who is now all set to don a villain suit for Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet said that it is him who has portrayed Karan in the style he wanted. "Bombay Velvet is a vastly exciting experience for all of us. I keep telling Anurag, 'If I am good in it it's thanks to you. If I am bad in it, it's thanks to you. So you take all the discredit and credit where it's due. All I can say is that I don't think we have seen a film that looks like this," he added.
The film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar will hit the screens on May 10th. The response to Karan’s performance will be a lot clearer then, and also his chances of winning an award. Karan is also working on his next directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
