Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj seems overjoyed by the way the screenplay is shaping up for his next movie, "Coolie," which will star Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role. Chandhru Anbazhagan, one of the writers of the movie, shared a picture of himself with his co-writers. It seems that the selfie was taken to commemorate achieving an important writing milestone.

Chandhru Anbazhagan also borrowed a punchline from one of Rajinikanth's blockbusters while sharing the tweet. "Eppo Nadakkum... Epdi Nadakkum nu Yaarukum theriyaadhu... Aana Nadakka Veandiya Nerathula Correct ah Nadakkum (We won't know when it will happen, how it happens, or to whom it will happen, but what must happen will happen)... #Coolie 1st half Kicked to collaborate with you @Dir_Lokesh Assoc Directors @santhoshkrishnn & @immanuel5233," he tweeted.

It seems that the team of young filmmakers has completed drafting the screenplay till the interval sequence in "Coolie." It's noteworthy that interval points are particularly one of the highlights of Lokesh's movies, and meeting the expectations of fans is not an easy task.

Chandhru Anbazhagan has earlier collaborated with Lokesh on "Maanagaram," which was Lokesh's feature film debut.

In the meantime, there seem to be more reasons behind sharing this selfie. It seems that Lokesh wanted to inform his fans that he was happy and remains unfazed by all the controversy sparked by the "Coolie" teaser.

The teaser for "Coolie" was released last month amid huge fanfare. One of the highlights of the teaser was composer Anirudh Ravichander's "Disco" background score, which was a riff on "Va Va Pakkam Va" from the 1983 movie "Thangamagan."

Soon after the release of the teaser, music maestro Ilaiyaraaja sent a legal notice to the producers, Sun Pictures, accusing them of not securing proper permissions to remix the song for their film. It created quite a debate in Tamil cinema. However, the pre-production work for "Coolie" seems to be going on without any interruption.

The film is expected to go on the floors in the next few months. The filmmakers have not revealed the remaining cast members of the film.
