Ventura revealed in a joint statement with Sean that she, “decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support.” Combs mentioned in his statement, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love." On Thursday (November 18), Cassie filed a lawsuit wherein she accused the rap mogul of trapping her in a vicious cycle of abuse and violence for over a decade.

Sean Combs denied Cassie Ventura's allegations

However, the ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ singer had denied all the allegations and had instead accused his ex-girlfriend of trying to extort money from him. His lawyer had also labeled Ventura’s statement as “offensive and outrageous.” On the other hand, Cassie’s lawyer Douglas Wigdor confirmed his client’s allegations and said, “I am very proud of Ms Ventura for having the strength to go public with her lawsuit. She ought to be commended for doing so."

In her statement, the ‘Long Way 2 Go’ singer alleged that Sean had raped and beat her for 10 years starting from when she was just 19 while he was 37 years of age. Cassie said, “After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story.” The report further mentioned that the lawsuit had many graphic details of the abuse that the singer endured when she started dating Combs in 2005. The complaint mentioned that Sean signed Cassie for his record label Bad Boy and “plied the vulnerable Ms. Ventura with drugs and alcohol, causing her to fall into dangerous addictions that controlled her life".
