"SKY is the limit"? Not for this man, as Suryakumar Yadav not only scored a century but also led his team to victory in Match 55 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The Mumbai Indians (MI) secured a win at home - Wankhede Stadium - by 7 wickets in 17.2 overs against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Suryakumar Yadav (102 off 51) was on 96 when MI needed 6 runs to win the match, and he confidently smashed the ball by T Natarajan into the park. Such a feat is exactly what one would expect from the No. 1 T20 batter in the world. This victory is indeed a significant one for MI. He has now become the 2nd batter after Rohit Sharma to record 25 scores of 50+ for Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

SRH was in the game after they took three quick wickets for 30 runs. However, then entered SKY along with Tilak Varma (37 off 32) and they formed an outstanding partnership for the fourth wicket.

Regarding the clash, chasing 174 runs, Pat Cummins dismissed the Hitman for just 4 runs off 5 balls. Ishan Kishan departed early as well, as he was dismissed for 9 off 7, while Naman Dhir went for a duck after facing 9 balls. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen, and Pat Cummins each picked a wicket.

Previously, SRH posted a total of 173 runs in 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Travis Head emerged as the highest scorer for the Orange Army with 48 runs off 30 balls. Abhishek Sharma (11 off 16), Mayank Agarwal (5 off 6), Nitish Reddy (20 off 15), Klaasen (2 off 4), Marco Jansen (17 off 12), Shahbaz Ahmed (10 off 12), and Abdul Samad (3 off 4) fell at regular intervals. Towards the end, Pat Cummins contributed 35 runs off 17 balls, while Sanvir Singh scored 8 runs off 7 balls.
