Archies to have Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif for Veronica and Betty’s character respectively

Archies is one of the most popular comic books in the world and also in India. But with India chosen as the first stop in their World Tour for 650^thArchies issue, it is proved that the makers of the comic too are a big fan of our country. TheArchies’ World Tour entitled ‘Rockin’ has landed inBollywood and the CEO of Archies Comics Jon Goldwater and writer/artist Dan Parent said about India that it's a place they love.

The CEO and the writer talked about the idea of involving Bollywood into Archies saying, “It's anexcitingplace and a place that Archie has always embraced. Raj Patel is one of my favorite characters and India is so important to the future of Archie. I liked the idea of starting the tour in India because we have a large fanbase there, and I thought the beautiful backdrop of India would make a nice starting point.” The storyline of the 650^thedition as disclosed by Dan Parent, “The storyline generally revolves around a world tour featuring musical bands that have apppeared in Archie Comics. Most famously The Archies and Josie and the Pussycats. Archie's friend Raj Patel is filming a documentary about the tour. Of course there is romantic conflicts between Archie and Valerie. And Archie and Betty and Veronica.”

Goldwater speaks on his fascination for Hindi films, “I have watched Indian films and I enjoy them very much. I think they are very well done and all the actors in the films are very appealing and good characters.” The CEO of the comic feels Deepika is suitable for Veronica’s role and Katrina orKareenawill match up for Betty. A film has also been decided to be made on the same and as per Goldwater’s verdict, “We are going to be making a movie with Warner Bros based on the Archie characters. We are currently writing the script and we hope to release it worldwide as soon as we possibly can.” The tour will also feature most of the characters from the Archie universe and will star some special guests.
