Double iSmart update: Here's the latest from Ram Pothineni and Puri Jagannadh’s film

The shooting for Ram Pothineni and Puri Jagannadh’s ambitious project, Double iSmart, has resumed in Mumbai. The makers of the film took to their social media handles to share some BTS pictures from the location of the shoot. After wrapping up the current shooting schedule in Mumbai, the team is expected to shoot the climax and two songs.

The shooting of the movie has been delayed several times, reportedly due to financial issues. There have been other reports that the makers intentionally took a break from filming after non-stop shoots. Whatever the case may be, one thing is for sure and that is that the team is currently shooting for the movies. So, here are some BTS pictures that were shared by the makers:

Ram Pothineni's transformation for Double iSmart

According to sources, Ram has undergone a massive physical transformation for Double iSmart. The actor has apparently put on weight and will be seen in a stylish avatar in the film. 

Ram and Puri Jagannadh last collaborated on the blockbuster hit, Ismart Shankar. Double iSmart is the sequel to the film, which is being made on a massive scale. Sanjay Dutt plays a key role in this movie and has reportedly charged around Rs 9 crore. Meanwhile, Kavya Thapar is the female lead. 

The excitement surrounding Double iSmart is huge, considering that it is the sequel to the hit iSmart Shankar. Double iSmart was officially launched with a puja ceremony in Hyderabad last year and the film went on floors in July 2023. The action entertainer will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Its release date is yet to be announced. 

Will Double iSmart serve as a comeback for Ram Pothineni and Puri Jagannadh?

Ram desperately needs to make a comeback, especially considering his last film, Skanda, was a box office disaster. Meanwhile, Puri Jagannadh, who faced a flop with Liger, is still recovering from the Vijay Deverakonda-starrer. With Double iSmart set to release this year, there is widespread anticipation about whether the duo can stage a strong comeback.
