Actor Rana Daggubati is highly confident about the global success of the upcoming Telugu movie, "Kalki 2898 AD." On a podcast, he discussed the film's potential to resonate not only with Indians but also with cinephiles worldwide, transcending barriers of language, culture, and ethnicity.

Rana Daggubati confirmed that although he's not part of the star cast of the big-budget sci-fi drama, he is involved with the production team. He mentioned his role in assisting the team with global promotional efforts due to his close friendship with director Nag Ashwin and superstar Prabhas.

"The next big moment is Kalki. Nag Ashwin is a very dear friend. Not only Indians and the Indian diaspora, but everyone will get this film. I felt like we could have an Avengers moment from this set (of stars). I think we can have that. That's what made me a part of it. Where will we see bigger movies? At Comic-Con, where Marvel unveils their new movies. That's the reason we launched Kalki there," said Rana Daggubati.

"Kalki 2898 AD" was previously titled "Project K," and the producers hosted a grand event to announce the film's official title at San Diego Comic-Con in 2023. Rana Daggubati accompanied the film's main cast and crew, including Prabhas and Kamal Haasan, and helped promote the movie to a global audience.

Rana also described Prabhas as an "introvert" who is not very comfortable with public interactions. "Prabhas is a person who doesn't talk so much. I just feel like we should enjoy him in the art form he is. Very few artists can get to lead such a full, pure life. I think Prabhas is one of them. He likes to do great, big things, but be a simple, normal human being," he added.

The production of "Kalki 2898 AD" has been ongoing for a considerable time. The VFX-heavy movie is touted as India's first sci-fi epic inspired by the country's rich mythology. Made on a massive budget, the film features an all-star cast, including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. The film is set to hit cinemas on June 27.
