If there is someone who is on the seventh heaven these days, then, it has to be the entire cast and crew of the film Amar Singh Chamkila. The reason? Well. The kind of response that the film has got from the audience is simply unbelievable.

This Diljit Singh-Parineeti Chopra starrer not just made its place in the hearts of the audience, but also, catapulted them into the league of extraordinary actors. No wonder then, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, who is the director of Amar Singh Chamkila is one happy man these days.

While on the topic of Imtiaz Ali, many till date, just cannot get over his major blockbuster Jab We Met, which starred the awesome pairing of Kareena Kapoor Khan (how can anyone forget her stellar performance in the role of Geet), and Shahid Kapoor.

But, did you know that, there were many who had advised Imtiaz Ali from getting Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor on board as the leading stars in the fil Jab We Met. The same was revealed by none other than Imtiaz Ali himself in an interview with India Today.

When asked about how he cast the actors in the film Jab We Met, the filmmaker Imtiaz Ali said that he had varying chances with the ‘stars’. At that point, he recalled the time when Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor came onboard as the leading stars in the film.

The filmmaker added that he was (at that time) told that they could get a better casting (than Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor), as the two aforementioned actors were not doing that well at that time.

Speaking about Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila, besides Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, the film also starred Apinderdeep Singh, Nisha Bano, Rahul Mittra, Anjum Batra, Udaybir Sandhu, Sahiba Bali, Tushar Dutt in important roles.

The film is being streamed on Netflix now.
